Exhibition Introduction

Being Changed-A Group Exhibition of International Contemporary Art is an exhibition with four Taiwanese and six international artists of the young generation.  They have creatively expressed the corresponding relationship between the will and existence through contemporary art’s diverse approaches.  Distinctively derived from the different layers and perspectives of the environment, space, body, and psychological notion, connections are discovered from explorations of external objects through self-consciousness, which are further evolved into inseparable life’s essence involving the body and the will.

Huang Xiangzhi’s environmental art, The Perito Moreno Glacier Project, is reflections about the critical condition that the great nature is undergoing.  Chang PoYang’s video installation, A Couple Years After They Have Left, uses photography to document marks of time and traces of people.  Kan Yihao’s Project Perception Infiltration is about a dancer’s attempt to find proof of the existence of self-consciousness via physical expressions.  Pinn Su and German artist Elias Wessel have co-created Project MOJU, and through a dream-like virtual realm, the ambiguity of human’s real and fictional existences is depicted.  Sound artist Tara__X has created a sound art performance piece based on gender-related topics.  The piece by Andrei Loginov and Franz Rodwalt is a fictional story of adventure and deals with the essence of art.  Andreas Walther and Ricardo Sanchez Madrico’s pieces was created on-site in Taipei in 2011 and is a portrayal of the various roles and lifestyles of the Taiwanese urban dwellers.
